Senior Product Manager

RBmedia is a global leader in spoken audio content and software media platforms that reach millions of consumers through mobile devices, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Audible, Spotify, etc.

We have over 60k titles and, in the last year alone, our new content rocked representing 65 New York Times Bestsellers, 3 Pulitzer Prizes and an Academy Award. We are owned by one of the largest private equity firms in the world and operate at the intersection of Hollywood and tech – owning the audio rights for hot streaming series like Outlander, Bridgerton and others.  

We are looking for an exceptionally strong senior-level product manager who wants to own a key product line that enables creators to produce spoken audio content and distribute/monetize it globally. Position Overview

The Senior Product Manager will lead the Author’s Republic product line. The role reports directly to RBmedia’s Chief Product & Marketing Officer. The product leader will be responsible for everything regarding the product line from working day-to-day issues to developing the strategic roadmap of new features and working with development to get them implemented.  

The ideal candidate will be highly data driven in developing recommendations and decision-making and will have expertise in using UI/UX wireframing tools such as Balsamiq or Figma. They will possess the ability to understand the consumer view and will have experience gathering input from, and working closely with, customers. Someone who has been focused on web-based, digital businesses with a consumer focus and an emphasis on customer acquisition. The Senior Product Manager is responsible for the following:

  • Manage day-to-day aspects of the product – ensure that product decisions have a clear path to increasing revenue/profit and are data-driven
  • Create and prioritize the product roadmap including significant new functionality  
  • Drive the agile process by developing detailed requirements for new functionality including user stories/tickets in Jira and work with development to implement
  • Work with marketing and optimize the system UI/UX to drive customer acquisition, conversion and life time value
  • Maintain a data on competitive offerings and drive product features leveraging that data to ensure on-going differentiation
  • Work with key internal stakeholders and gather customer input to develop products that meet their needs 
  • Rapidly deliver quality product releases in increments that will maximize revenue and profit
  • Define and measure key performance metrics and determine success of products
  • Work with marketing to launch new products

The experience we’re looking for includes the following:

  • 3-5+ years of product management experience at a startup and/or later stage company
  • Ability to quickly make decisions leveraging data  
  • Experience using Jira and UI/UX wireframing tools such as Balsamiq or Figma
  • Experience working with different systems to track customer engagement and funnel performance using the data to optimize Author’s Republic (i.e., Google Analytics, Hot Jar, SQL/database queries, etc.)
  • Experience gathering input from, and working closely with, customers
  • Expertise in digital media and consumer software a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree required – MBA a plus

Compensation & Location

The compensation for this role is very competitive, including base and bonus. This role is based in the Washington, DC area, and has a flexible hybrid working model.
