In this role, you’ll have an opportunity to work in digital media with the world’s top publishers, agents, and bestselling authors—including Dolly Parton, Danielle Steel, Sarah J. Position Summary
We are looking for a Digital Marketing Manager to develop, implement, track, and optimize our digital marketing and social media campaigns. This position is a key member of the RBmedia marketing team and will support a range of initiatives. Working closely with the digital marketing team, you will help plan and execute email and digital marketing campaigns, maintain an extensive contact database, analyze and interpret data, and contribute to the development of creative strategies and automated marketing systems to enhance our brand’s presence and grow the business.

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong grasp of current marketing tools and strategies and be able to manage integrated digital marketing campaigns from concept to execution. Our ideal candidate is someone with experience in marketing communications, email marketing, video marketing, data analytics, and reporting.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Marketing Systems and Initiatives. Collaborate with marketing team to advance key strategies that leverage automated marketing systems, including planning and executing video campaigns, creating and distributing custom promotions, and expanding our international presence. Coordinate with various audio brands to optimize campaigns including production or review, segmentation, list maintenance, send, analysis, and optimization.
  • Marketing Operations, Email Marketing and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Support. Work closely with our Senior Digital Marketing Manager, assisting with design, deployment, maintenance, CRM support, and analysis of drip/nurture email campaigns using HubSpot. Ensure adherence to best practices. Help coordinate operations associated with executing marketing programs, including author/title list management, integration between database and CRM, and marketing systems management.
  • Content Creation and Management. Assist with writing, editing, and distributing email and other marketing copy, including A/B testing, SEO optimization and following industry best practices. Help create and manage editorial calendars and generate, edit, publish, and share content that builds meaningful connections and encourages followers to take action.
  • Author & Title Marketing Support. Support communications and relationships with authors, agents, publishers, etc. and respond to various questions, concerns, requests, and troubleshooting needed by various audiences and stakeholders.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting. Monitor and evaluate the performance of ongoing campaigns against goals and objectives. Report on marketing campaign performance, with analysis of success metrics and recommendations for performance improvements.

 

Requirements and qualifications

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in digital marketing
  • Full understanding of marketing platforms and current with the latest trends and technologies in digital marketing
  • Familiarity with marketing automation systems, for example: HubSpot, MailChimp, Hootsuite, Canva, Google Analytics, etc.
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Proactive, efficient, and detail oriented, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication, project management, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field
  • Publishing industry/digital media experience is a plus

The compensation for this role is very competitive. This role is based in the Washington, DC area, and has a flexible, hybrid working model.
