W. F. Howes signs four-book Nicholas Evans audio deal

W. F. Howes, RBmedia’s U.K. publishing brand, has acquired the audio rights to four of Nicholas Evans’ most treasured novels, led by his iconic debut The Horse Whisperer, which has sold over 15 million copies worldwide.

The acquisition will also see W. F. Howes breathe new life into the author’s most popular standalone novels, including refreshed audio editions of The Loop and The Divide, and an audiobook debut for his third novel The Smoke Jumper.

The new audiobook collection will be narrated by actor Eric Meyers, who is renowned for his prolific voice acting career and his work on international bestselling titles, including The Stranger (Harlan Coben), The Wolf of Wall Street (Jordan Belfort) and The Rest of Our Lives (Ben Markovits).

British novelist, journalist and screenwriter Nicholas Evans took the literary world by storm in 1995 when his debut novel The Horse Whisperer became an instant global hit. The film adaptation of the novel—directed by and starring Robert Redford alongside Scarlett Johansson, Sam Neill and Kristin Scott Thomas—received Golden Globe and Academy Award nominations. Evans passed away in 2022, leaving behind a rich literary legacy.

The estate of Nicholas Evans said: ‘I’m delighted that Howes will be bringing Nick’s incredible, life-affirming novels to new readers with these fresh recordings. This will just be the first in a new lease of life for these very special books under The Blair Partnership’s shepherding.’

Kay Farrell, Acquisitions Editor at W. F. Howes, secured the U.K. and Commonwealth audio rights for the collection from Rhian Parry at the Blair Partnership, acting on behalf of the Nicholas Evans Estate. She said: “Evans was an undeniable writing talent, whose masterful storytelling coupled with the emotional depth of his stories really resonated with readers. While many readers will already be familiar with The Horse Whisperer, some of his other novels are rare gems waiting to be discovered. We’re delighted to be bringing this stunning collection to life and introducing a new audience Nicholas’ beautiful writing.”

The new W. F. Howes audio editions will begin publishing in April 2026, starting with The Horse Whisperer, which is available to preorder.
