Millions of fans can’t wait to discover what’s next in new seasons of Outlander, Bridgerton, The Summer I Turned Pretty, and more

Landover, MD, June 12, 2023—RBmedia, the largest audiobook publisher in the world, today announced that new book-to-screen adaptations of some of its biggest franchises will launch over the coming months. RBmedia publishes the audiobooks for many of the most anticipated film, TV, and streaming releases—including Outlander, Bridgerton, The Summer I Turned Pretty, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

Based on Diana Gabaldon’s mega-bestselling Outlander series, Starz’s bingeworthy adaptation returns for its seventh season on June 16 and finds the Frasers navigating the perils of the Revolutionary War. Over the last three decades, Outlander has become a worldwide phenomenon, with a following of millions of readers and audiobook listeners.

The Summer I Turned Pretty season two premieres on July 14 on Amazon Prime Video. Lola Tung (Belly), Christopher Briney (Conrad), and Gavin Casalegno (Jeremiah)—who are also the voice actors for the audiobooks—will reprise their roles in the new season adapted from Jenny Han’s coming-of-age trilogy.

The first two seasons of Bridgerton, following Julia Quinn’s historical romance series, are among Netflix’s most-watched shows ever—and the upcoming season three is expected to surpass viewership records. Netflix recently debuted its prequel spin-off Queen Charlotte starring Adjoa Andoh as Lady Danbury, who is also the voice actor for RBmedia’s audiobook Charlotte Sophia by Tina Andrews. The popularity of Bridgerton has catapulted Julia Quinn’s books to the top of multiple New York Times bestseller lists.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season one ended with a bang, and production has started on season two. Prime Video takes us back to Middle-earth in a prequel series based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s iconic fantasy saga. The Lord of the Rings audiobooks are read by BAFTA-winning actor, director, and author Andy Serkis—well known for his performance as Gollum in the Academy Award®–winning “The Lord of the Rings” movie trilogy, directed by Peter Jackson.

Disney+ is developing the third animated Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie based on #1 international bestselling author Jeff Kinney’s laugh-out-loud series. No Brainer, the 18th audiobook in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, will be published in October 2023.

Troy Juliar, Chief Content Officer for RBmedia said, “Legions of fans who can’t wait to discover what happens next in these series are now enjoying the audiobooks. We’re proud of the role we play in expanding the audience for these amazing screen adaptions, giving them new life in audio, and building the fan base.”

RBmedia audiobooks are available for download on Audible, Spotify, iTunes, Google Play, Audiobooks.com, and everywhere digital audiobooks are sold.
